Ember the Fire Dog

Ember the Fire Dog  has played a fun role in the outreach efforts of the Waukee Fire Department since she was just a pup in June 2015. You can see Ember out at community events such as Waukee Public Safety Day, the annual Waukee Firefighters' Pancake Breakfast and more! She also assists the firefighters at several school and community fire safety visits and firehouse tours.

While Ember is a great mascot for the Waukee Fire Department, she makes her home with owners Adam Hilgenberg and Tiffany Hentges in Waukee. Adam is a full-time Waukee Firefighter/Paramedic. The couple provides for her everyday needs, and she is trained at Ankeny Dog Training Academy. She is a young Dalmatian, but has already received her AKC (American Kennel Club) Canine Good Citizen Title and continues to work hard training two days a week as she prepares for her AKC Advance Canine Good Citizen Test.

So, don't be a stranger. Be sure to say "Bow-wow" to Ember. Just watch out for her tail - it's always wagging!
