    Romp, stomp and play! We have the set-up to meet your children's activity and social needs this fall and winter. With toddler toys ranging from blocks to tunnels and mats, there's no shortage of action here. We provide the fun, parents provide the supervision in this open gym for toddlers. Tot Lot will be cancelled when Waukee Schools are delayed and/or if there is inclement weather. Tot Lot will be closed 11/12, 12/24 and 2/18, but will be open the week of Spring Break.

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME - 10am & 11am For children 3 to 5 yrs old 30 minutes of stories, songs and rhymes, followed by a craft. For children who can sit for longer stories to develop school readiness. All storytime attendance will be a first-come-first-served basis. Class size is limited for the safety of the children.

  7. Winter Reading Kickoff with Tim Read

    The Winter Reading Program is for all ages and runs November 15-January 31. Get creative with artist and author Tim Read!     What is NaNoWriMo? National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, fast-paced approach to creative writing for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel. Starting November 1, participants work towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM sharp on November 30. And the Waukee Public Library is here to help with drop-in writing session throughout the month! Bring your preferred writing tools and work on your novel surrounded by other local writers as well as all of the library’s resources. Refreshments for fueling up will be provided. Attendees will also receive an exclusive Waukee Public Library NaNoWriMo pin! Tuesdays, November 6th, 13th, & 27th from 6-8pm
