Prohibition in Iowa

Wednesday, March 21, 2018

Prohibition was a period of time when it was illegal to manufacture, sell, or transport liquor in the United States. This included Iowa. So, why did Iowa farmers get involved in using their corn to make liquor? Linda Mccann, researcher and author of numerous books on Iowa history, will share this information and examples of prohibition activities in the Waukee area. She will also share some of the stories and comments from the children of Iowa moonshiners and bootleggers that she has spoken with.
