According to recently released U.S. Census data, the City of Waukee’s population grew by nearly 11 percent in 2016. Census numbers estimate the current population at 19,284.

Based upon the City’s current growth patterns, excitement in Waukee and the overall economy, a City growth scenario estimates that Waukee’s population could reach approximately 40,000 by 2030. Again, that is just a projection.

As we grow at such a rate, it’s important to plan for successfully managed growth and expansion. The City is currently in the process of creating a new Comprehensive Plan going out to the year 2040. Learn more about "Imagine Waukee 2040" and participate in a future public input session! New events will be added to the calendar soon.
