The City of Waukee is now seeking nominations through Friday, Feb. 16 for its 2017 Citizen of the Year. Each year, the City accepts nominations of exemplary residents who represent the true spirit of community service. The award recipient is honored with a public reception and is invited to ride in the Fourth of July and Celebrate Waukee parades.
Past Citizen of the Year winners include community organizers Andy and Amy Walsh, civic-minded Waukee resident Frank Hoifeldt, well-known community leader Terry Snyder and local Waukee Hardware owner Geoff Warmouth.
Rules and nomination forms are available online or in person at Waukee City Hall. Contact City Clerk Becky Schuett at 515-978-7904 or email bschuett@Waukee.org with questions.
