The Waukee Public Library Board of Trustees will have openings beginning July 1 for three-year terms. Interested applicants should apply online by April 30, 2018.
The Library Board sets the overall direction of the Waukee Public Library through goal-setting and adopting policies. The Board monitors the overall effectiveness of the library and sets library policies and works with the Library Director to plan for the future of the library facility and services through strategic planning. The Board also works with the Director to propose an annual budget to City Council and is responsible for approving the library's bills on a monthly basis.
Members should have a passion for the library, and he/she is responsible for advocating for the library in the community as well as being the voice of the community to the Library Board. This may include speaking about the library to the City Council or other community groups and volunteering at City events to increase awareness of and advocate for the library. A Board Member is also responsible for reporting public feedback about the library to the Director.
