The Waukee Public Library’s Summer Reading Program wrapped up at the end of July. Nearly 2,000 people participated in the program, tracking reading time and turning in reading logs for a total of 712,255 minutes read! One other big accomplishment this year is that 90 percent of those who signed up for the program, completed it; last year that number was 60 percent. Thanks to sponsorship support from mi-fiber, a total of 2,400 books were given away for free as prizes. Other grand prizes were given out as well such as a Kindle Fire, a pizza party with the librarians, a guitar and more.
