Waukee Police Deliver 23 Thanksgiving Food Baskets

tgiving baskets

The Waukee Police Department provided 23 Waukee area families (up from 17 last year) with Thanksgiving food baskets purchased from the Waukee Fareway. They delivered the baskets to the recipients on Saturday, Nov. 19. The baskets were filled with the makings of turkey or ham dinners just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The PD would like to thank the various Waukee residents and City employees who donated to the cause as well as Stivers Ford, Gilcrest Jewett, Shottenkirk Chevrolet, Brick Law Firm, the Medders Family, and Charles and Judy Black. These area businesses and residents provided funds for this project and the annual Shop With a Cop program. This was the third year the department provided this service to the community.
