City Staff Members Pack 18,144 Meals for Those in Need

On January 20, 2017, 55 City of Waukee staff members spent their lunch hours at Meals from the Heartland, packing meals for local food pantries and disaster areas around the world. Meals from the Heartland is a non-profit organization geared toward eliminating life-threatening hunger.

In total, staff members packed 18,144 meals! 2016 employee charitable contributions to Meals From the Heartland paid for 15,000 of those meals packaged as well.
