Bill Froehlich received the Firefighter of the Year honor for his motivation skills within the department. His colleagues stated that he finds ways to influence people to give their best at all times. He also had been a leader in emphasizing the importance of physical fitness in this line of work. He is a real professional during calls and works well as a team player. Bill also put in a lot of extra time in 2016 assisting with the in-house Fire Academy and helping to teach the recruits.
Josh Hutton received the Medic of the Year honor for sacrificing a lot in 2016 to better himself and the department. He worked diligently to get through paramedic school while having two small children at home, and he put in a lot of extra time at the station. He is turning into a great medic, and is always eager to share his skills with his colleagues. He is a great firefighter and a great medic.
Congratulations to these top-notch members of the Waukee Fire Department!
