Crews Begin Work on the Little Walnut Creek Lift Station Project

Crews from Synergy Contracting, LLC are moving in to the right-of-way along the west side of Warrior Lane just north of the Waukee Family YMCA to begin work on the Little Walnut Creek (LWC) Life Station project. Improvements to the lift station include equipment upgrades to accommodate the anticipated increase in wastewater flow related to future development as well as the addition of the new high school.

So, what’s a lift station? Lift stations are facilities designed to move wastewater from lower to higher elevation, particularly where the elevation of the source is not sufficient for gravity flow and/or when the use of gravity conveyance will result in excessive excavation depths and high sewer construction costs.

The project, which will occur along the entire length of Warrior Lane from Little Walnut Creek to Centennial Park is expected to be completed by mid-October. No road closures will take place, however, please be aware of workers and equipment near Warrior Lane. Thanks!
