    Families with children in grades K+ are invited to a morning of exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) at the library. A generous donation has been made in memory of Dr. Mayank K. Kothari to increase the number of kits in our STEAM Library. Hear a presentation about the new STEAM kits followed by the opportunity to see each kit in action. Kits will be available for check-out the Monday after the event. No registration required.

  2. BAM! Marvel Trivia (Rescheduled)

    February 24, 2018, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Global Brew Tap House

    The Waukee Public Library Friends Foundation will be hosting a Marvel Comic Book Trivia Fundraising event on February 24, 2018 at Global Brew Tap House in Waukee to raise funds for renovation of the Waukee Public Library's storytime rooms. Children's programming at the library has grown by leaps and bounds and the currently used rooms need many updates to provide a welcoming, appropriately designed space for the storytimes and special activities held there. The Waukee Public Library Friends Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and all donations are fully tax deductible as allowed by law.

  4. Senior WASP Luncheon

    February 28, 2018, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM @ Community Center

    WASP involves the senior citizens in the Waukee area and aims to "Take the Sting Out of Crime"! WASP was created based upon the concept of cooperation between law enforcement, senior services and seniors in the community to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly. It stands for Waukee Area Seniors and Police. The group meets the last Wednesday of each month for lunch at the Community Center. Interested seniors should contact the Waukee Police Department at 515-978-7979.
