  1. Senior WASP Luncheon and Bus Tour

    September 26, 2018, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM @ Community Center

    This month's WASP will feature lunch followed by a bus tour around the City with Development Services Director Brad Deets.

    WASP involves the senior citizens in the Waukee area and aims to "Take the Sting Out of Crime"! WASP was created based upon the concept of cooperation between law enforcement, senior services and seniors in the community to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly. It stands for Waukee Area Seniors and Police. The group meets the last Wednesday of each month for lunch at the Community Center. Interested seniors should contact the Waukee Police Department at 515-978-7979.

  3. Alice's Road Night Closures Planned September 26-29

    September 26, 2018, 7:00 PM - September 29, 2018, 7:00 AM

    Overnight road closures stretching from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. are scheduled on Alice's Road for September 26-29. The closures are scheduled as follows, weather pending: Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. to Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 a.m. Alice's Road from Hickman Road to Laurel Street will be closed. A signed detour will be in place utilizing SE Olson Drive and SE Brick Drive. This closure is necessary to complete concrete saw cutting. Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. to Friday, Sept. 28 at 7 a.m. Alice's Road from Hickman Road to Laurel Street will be closed. A signed detour will be in place utilizing SE Olson Drive and SE Brick Drive. This closure is to allow for work on utility cross runs. Friday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. to Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7 a.m. Alice's Road from Hickman Road to Laurel Street will be closed.   4. Waukee High School Homecoming Parade

    September 27, 2018, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

    The Waukee Community School District is planning its Homecoming parade for Thursday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. Streets along the parade route will be closed from 5:30-6:30 p.m. will be closed from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The Homecoming football game is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. against Des Moines East. Please note that a cannon will be fired following each Waukee touchdown. Nearby residents may hear these booms at their homes.

    What: A morning of fun for all! Tickets are all-inclusive and include all activities, snacks, a goody bag for each child ticket, and access to all giveaways as part of our raffle.
