    The Waukee Public Library Summer Reading Program kicks off May 26! This year’s theme is "Build a Better World!”. It focuses on engineering and being caring citizens. All ages of children, teens and adults can read or listen to books and turn in reading logs. At the end of the summer, participants will be entered to win prizes. Reading logs can be picked up at the library, located at 950 Warrior Lane. Participants may also register and log hours online at WaukeeLibrary.Beanstack.org.

  2. Park Play: Centennial Park

    Park Play is a new summer series of park events organized by the Waukee Parks & Recreation Department in partnership with Central Bank. The goal of this series is to bring neighbors together and introduce specific parks to those who live near them. Postcards will be mailed out with information about your neighborhood’s Park Play date, time and theme. Games, crafts, activities and free play for all ages will be provided free of charge.

  2. 6th Street Closed from Laurel St to Hickman Rd

    July 12, 2017 - July 26, 2017

    Beginning July 12 a portion of 6th Street will be closed to make utility connections and to repave a part of the road to accommodate the entrance to the new Kum and Go store at the corner of Hickman Rd and 6th St. The closure will begin July 12th and last approximately 2 weeks, weather pending. A signed detour route will be in place utilizing Laurel St and 4th St.
