  1. Senior WASP Luncheon

    May 30, 2018, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Waukee Public Safety Building

    Note: This month's WASP program will feature the MILO electronic shooting scenario simulator. Please attend at EITHER 11 a.m. OR noon. Also, please note the location change (Public Safety Building). WASP involves the senior citizens in the Waukee area and aims to "Take the Sting Out of Crime"! WASP was created based upon the concept of cooperation between law enforcement, senior services and seniors in the community to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly. It stands for Waukee Area Seniors and Police. The group meets the last Wednesday of each month for lunch at the Community Center. Interested seniors should contact the Waukee Police Department at 515-978-7979.

Waukee Road Closure Calendar

  1. Ashworth Road from Jordan Creek Parkway to 81st Street (WDM)

    April 2, 2018 - August 31, 2018

    From the City of West Des Moines: Now that spring is here, work on Phase 1 of the Ashworth Road widening project will resume on Monday, April 2, and will once again place a full closure on Ashworth Road from Jordan Creek Parkway to 81st Street. Travel on Ashworth Road west of Jordan Creek Parkway will be allowed only for residents living within the construction limits. Phase 2 of the project closed Ashworth Road from 88th Street to 81st Street on Monday, March 12. This section of Ashworth will be closed through November. Crews will allow access to the intersections at 88th Street and 81th Street for as long as possible, but both intersections eventually will be closed for reconstruction. Work on the 88th Street intersection will be completed prior to school resuming in August. The posted detour route is Jordan Creek Parkway to University Avenue to Grand Prairie Parkway.

  2. Various locations - Westown, Park Road, 6th Street, etc.

    May 29, 2018 - June 1, 2018

    Streets Department crews are currently addressing road "blow-out" situations in various parts of Waukee. These issues were caused by high temperatures over the Memorial Day weekend.
    Workers will be present in the following areas:
    -Westown Parkway and 6th Street (May 29 and 30)
    -West entrance to Waukee High School near Park Road (May 30 and 31)
    -6th Street and Locust Street (May 31 and June 1)
    These areas will be down to one lane during the repair phase. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic.
