    For hazardous waste, tires and appliances, drop-off stations will be open throughout the city on Saturday, May 5, 2018.   2. Dallas County Historical Bike Ride

    May 5, 2018, 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM @ Mickey's Irish Pub

    Discover Dallas County, Iowa via bicycle. Stops with Dallas County Historian Rod Stanley. In Adel we will learn about the history of our Dallas Courthouse and Mike Flinn will talk about the historic Adel Bank robbery. Chris Adkins will speak at Hanging Rock near Redfield. Optional stops at Ortonville Historical Marker and Kennedy Station Historical Marker. With your paid event registration you will receive a slap koozie donated by Raygun, a free RRVT map, a RRVT trail pass ($10 value) and a historic stop booklet keepsake.
    We will have a poker run option. Poker run participants will visit five checkpoints, drawing a single playing card at each one, and then travel to the next location, eventually building their complete poker "hand.” A prize will be awarded at the last stop to the participant with the best hand. Each checkpoint will have a raffle prize as well. The 5 raffle tickets plus poker run participation is an additional $20.00 day of event during check-in.

Waukee Road Closure Calendar

  1. Ashworth Road from Jordan Creek Parkway to 81st Street (WDM)

    April 2, 2018 - August 31, 2018

    From the City of West Des Moines: Now that spring is here, work on Phase 1 of the Ashworth Road widening project will resume on Monday, April 2, and will once again place a full closure on Ashworth Road from Jordan Creek Parkway to 81st Street. Travel on Ashworth Road west of Jordan Creek Parkway will be allowed only for residents living within the construction limits. Phase 2 of the project closed Ashworth Road from 88th Street to 81st Street on Monday, March 12. This section of Ashworth will be closed through November. Crews will allow access to the intersections at 88th Street and 81th Street for as long as possible, but both intersections eventually will be closed for reconstruction. Work on the 88th Street intersection will be completed prior to school resuming in August. The posted detour route is Jordan Creek Parkway to University Avenue to Grand Prairie Parkway.
