Waukee Road Closure Calendar

  1. Ashworth Road from Jordan Creek Parkway to 81st Street (WDM)

    April 2, 2018 - August 31, 2018

    From the City of West Des Moines: Now that spring is here, work on Phase 1 of the Ashworth Road widening project will resume on Monday, April 2, and will once again place a full closure on Ashworth Road from Jordan Creek Parkway to 81st Street. Travel on Ashworth Road west of Jordan Creek Parkway will be allowed only for residents living within the construction limits. Phase 2 of the project closed Ashworth Road from 88th Street to 81st Street on Monday, March 12. This section of Ashworth will be closed through November. Crews will allow access to the intersections at 88th Street and 81th Street for as long as possible, but both intersections eventually will be closed for reconstruction. Work on the 88th Street intersection will be completed prior to school resuming in August. The posted detour route is Jordan Creek Parkway to University Avenue to Grand Prairie Parkway.

  2. Temporary Lane Closures on Hickman Road West of Alice's Road

    June 8, 2018 - June 22, 2018

    The inside eastbound and westbound lanes of Hickman Road near West Bank and Hy-Vee Gas will be temporary closing, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. These closures will occur Friday, June 8 and from Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 22. Potential morning closures on Saturday, June 9 are also possible. The contractor for Prairie Crossing Development will be building left turn lanes. Work is, of course, weather permitting.
