The City of Waukee is widening NW 10th Street north of Hickman Road ahead of the Waukee Community School District’s fall 2021 opening of Northwest High School. The City of Waukee’s future Triumph Park is also located on the site to the east of NW 10th Street. Also, as part of the NW 10th Street project, a portion of Sunrise Drive will be constructed east of NW 10th Street.

Construction of the NW 10th Street project includes all materials, labor and equipment necessary for installation of approximately: 100,000 CY of grading, 56,000 CY of modified subbase, 32,000 SY of 10” PCC pavement, 1,050 SY of 10” PCC widening, 17,000 SY of 9” PCC pavement, 5,500 SY of PCC trail/sidewalk, 2,500 LF of water main, 250 LF of sanitary sewer, 7,700 LF of storm sewer, 5 each intakes or manholes, two reinforced box culverts, traffic signalization and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances. The project also includes a pre-fabricated pedestrian bridge, 20 CY of structural concrete, 2500 lbs of reinforcing steel, 20,000 lbs of structural steel, 240 LF of steel HP pile, 20 tons of erosion stone and miscellaneous related work.
