The City of Waukee has invested considerably in quality infrastructure to service existing and incoming businesses.

The City of Waukee Public Works Department provides water utility service. In addition to its two elevated storage facilities (each with 500,000 gallons capacity), the city receives water capacity from Des Moines Water Works and LP Moon Storage Tank, allowing for a maximum daily capacity of 2 million gallons.

The City of Waukee Public Works Department operates the sanitary sewer utility, currently treating 446.6 million gallons of sewer per year. Waukee’s participation in the Des Moines Wastewater Reclamation Authority allows for additional capacity, enabling Waukee to meet the needs of a growing community.

Waukee is proud to practice quality stormwater management to control water pollution. The city holds the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit, issued by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, which sets certain standards for stormwater management.
