The City of Waukee is seeking applications from Waukee residents who would like to become members of one of the City’s many important boards and commissions. The extended application deadline is now Friday, Dec. 13, 2019.

Seats will be open on the Board of Appeals, Park Board, the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. The City of Waukee aims to achieve gender balance on boards and commissions. People of all genders and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The Board of Appeals and Park Board are in the highest demand for applicants at this time.

  • The Board of Appeals reviews requests for variances from the Waukee Building Code. This board meets as needed.
  • Park Board is responsible for reviewing proposals related to improvements made to the City of Waukee parks system. Board members also give their time at City-hosted events and festivals. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month at 6 p.m.

Reminder: only Waukee residents will be considered for City of Waukee board and commission appointments.
