The southbound curb lane of Grand Prairie Parkway will be closed to allow for SE Esker Ridge Drive paving to be tied into the existing Grand Prairie Parkway pavement.

Romp, stomp and play! We have the set-up to meet your children's activity and social needs this fall and winter. With toddler toys ranging from blocks to tunnels and mats, there's no shortage of action here. We provide the fun, parents provide the supervision in this open gym for toddlers. Tot Lot will be cancelled when Waukee Schools are delayed and/or if there is inclement weather. Tot Lot will be closed 11/12, 12/24 and 2/18, but will be open the week of Spring Break.

Portions of Alice's Road will be closed for brief periods of time to allow for pavement markings to be painted. Traffic will be temporarily detoured around the closures via signed detour routes. Alice’s Road south of Hickman Road will be closed at 9 a.m. for 1-2 hours. The contractor will then close Alice’s Road north of Hickman Road for the same duration. All work will be completed by 3 p.m. or earlier.
For the south detour, traffic will take Laurel Street to Brick Drive to Hickman Road.

TODDLER TIME - 10am & 11am
For children 18 mo. to 3 yrs old 20 minutes of short stories, songs and lots of movement, followed by playtime to build early literacy skills.
PRESCHOOL STORYTIME - 10am & 11am
For children 3 to 5 yrs old 30 minutes of stories, songs and rhymes, followed by a craft. For children who can sit for longer stories to develop school readiness. All storytime attendance will be a first-come-first-served basis. Class size is limited for the safety of the children.

WASP involves the senior citizens in the Waukee area and aims to "Take the Sting Out of Crime"! WASP was created based upon the concept of cooperation between law enforcement, senior services and seniors in the community to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly. It stands for Waukee Area Seniors and Police. The group meets the last Wednesday of each month for lunch at the Community Center. Interested seniors should contact the Waukee Police Department.
