Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

  1. Ashworth Road Lane Closures West of Grand Prairie Parkway

    October 3, 2018 - October 10, 2018

    The westbound lane of Ashworth Road from Grand Prairie Parkway to the west 1,200 feet will be closed October 3-10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day to accommodate turn lane paving. Flaggers will be used to allow traffic to alternate around the work area.

  2. SE Florence Drive Lane Closures

    October 3, 2018 - October 17, 2018

    Concrete patching will be taking place on SE Florence Drive from SE Westown Parkway to SE Tallgrass Lane. A couple of these repairs are the full width of the street, thus lane closures are necessary.

  3. Local History Series: Shuler Coal Mine

    October 7, 2018, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ Waukee Public Library

    Bruno Andreini, a former chairman of the Shuler Group, will give a presentation about the Shuler Mine. Bruno’s father was one of the first three people to take a carload of coal from the mine. Bruno himself was born and raised at the Shuler Coal Mine Camp. Stay after the program to tour the Library’s Coal Mine Museum and to share your memories of the Shuler Mine and Camp.
