  1. Northern Alice's Road Entrance to Hy-Vee Closed

    November 26, 2018, 8:00 AM - December 2, 2018

    The contractor for the Alice's Road widening project has scheduled a closure of the northern entrance into the Waukee Hy-Vee beginning Monday, Nov. 26 at 8 a.m. and lasting approximately one week, weather pending. This closure is to allow for pavement removal and replacement of the driveway connection to Alice Road. The south entrance will open and will provide full access. The truck entrance will also be open with partial access.

  2. Storytimes at the Library

    November 27, 2018, 10:00 AM - 2:15 PM @ Waukee Public Library

    BOOKS & BABIES - 11am For infants 0-17 mo. & caregivers 15 minutes of songs, rhymes and books, followed by playtime to build early literacy skills. TODDLER TIME - 10am & 11am For children 18 mo. to 3 yrs old 20 minutes of short stories, songs and lots of movement, followed by playtime to build early literacy skills. PRESCHOOL STORYTIME - 10am & 11am For children 3 to 5 yrs old 30 minutes of stories, songs and rhymes, followed by a craft. For children who can sit for longer stories to develop school readiness. All storytime attendance will be a first-come first-served basis. Class size is limited for the safety of the children.

  3. Come Write In: NaNoWriMo Drop-in Writing Sessions

    What is NaNoWriMo? National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, fast-paced approach to creative writing for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel. Starting November 1, participants work towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM sharp on November 30. And the Waukee Public Library is here to help with drop-in writing session throughout the month! Bring your preferred writing tools and work on your novel surrounded by other local writers as well as all of the library’s resources. Refreshments for fueling up will be provided. Attendees will also receive an exclusive Waukee Public Library NaNoWriMo pin! Tuesdays, November 6th, 13th, & 27th from 6-8pm
