Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

    Every Saturday and Sundy during regular open hours. Families are encouraged to drop-in anytime to read some special stories and complete an activity specially selected by our Youth Services Staff. No registration required.

    Families with children ages 0-5 are invited to enjoy 20-25 minutes of interactive songs and stories with one of our youth services librarians. No registration required.

  4. Intro to Modern Calligraphy

    October 12, 2019, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ Waukee Public Library

    In this beginner friendly workshop Jean Wilson will teach to tailor your own personal penmanship into a unique, contemporary style. No previous experience is necessary and left-handers are welcome. Students will be working with calligraphy pens but will have the opportunity to try out traditional nibs and ink. All supplies provided. Registration Required.
