Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

    Stay as little or as long as you wish to explore different interactive sensory stations each month with your child. Recommended for ages 3 years and up, due to choking hazards. No registration required

    Lunch & Learn No time to attend an evening or weekend program? Try our new Lunch & Learn series! We’ll have a speaker every first Friday of month at the Waukee Community Center (675 Walnut St). Bring your brown bag lunch and we’ll provide the dessert! Stick around afterwards for Waukee Parks & Recreation’s bingo at 1pm. This program is brought to you in partnership with Waukee Parks & Recreation. ----------------------------- iPad Basics Need some help getting started with your iPad? This class will cover the basic features and functions of your iPad, provide an overview of the basic starter apps, and will discuss a few library-related apps you can use to improve your reading experience. It is recommended to bring your iPad with you to follow along. No other tablets/e-readers will be discussed.

  4. Will You Survive a Volcanic Eruption? (K-2nd Grade)

    For fans of the popular book series “I Survived”, these programs provide an engaging, hands-on experience with the history and science behind some of the past’s biggest disasters. This event is for students in Kindergarten-2nd grades only. Registration is required and will open 3 weeks before each program. Parents are welcome to remain in the room for this program.
