Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

    Families with children ages 0-5 are invited to enjoy 20-25 minutes of fun songs and stories with one of our youth services librarians. No registration required.

  2. Yoga in the Park

    June 8, 2019, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM @ Windfield Open Air Shelter

    Join local, certified yoga instructors for Yoga in the Park this summer! Bring a yoga mat or towel to Windfield Park (114 Windfield Parkway) on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month from June through August. Yoga sessions will take place from 8-9 a.m. This program is recommended for anyone 8 years and older. The cost is $2 per person. Please pay the instructor when you arrive.   5. Sensory Spaces

    The library will be open an extra hour to provide quiet browsing and inclusive programming for individuals of all ages with special sensory needs and their families or care-givers. In addition to computer availability and access to library materials, this event will feature a dimmed calm room, space-themed sensory stations, therapy ducks, and a come-and-go songs and stories session. Waukee has collaborated with 9 other metro-area libraries to offer two libraries a month hosting these ongoing events. Individuals are encouraged to contact the hosting library for more details on activities at that location.
