Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

  2. Elementary Coding: Finch Space Transport

    July 17, 2019, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Waukee Public Library

    All coding classes will use the Scratch programming language to control Finch robots. No prior coding experience is necessary. Students entering 3rd-5th grades in the fall will work in pairs with library staff and teen volunteers. These robots and programs are made possible by a grant from Birdbrain Technologies, LLC. www.birdbraintechnologies.com Registration is required and will open 3 weeks prior to the event. Star Wars fans will enjoy decorating their Finch robots as different space transports, and program them to duel.

    Presented by the Waukee Triangle Businesses, the Farmers Market is held in the Downtown Triangle every Wednesday evening during the summer and features local food vendors, fresh produce, handmade items and live music.

    Park Play is a summer fun series organized by the Waukee Parks & Recreation Department and sponsored by Central Bank. The Ridge Pointe Park theme this year will be Christmas in July. This is a great way to connect with neighbors while having fun in the park! Flyers will be delivered to specific park neighborhoods with information about Park Play themes. Games, crafts, activities and fun for all ages will be provided free of charge.
