Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

  1. Storytime in the Park

    August 7, 2019, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM @ Windfield Open Air Shelter

    The Library and the Waukee Parks & Recreation Department have partnered to offer this free program to young bookworms (ages 0-5). Enjoy themed Storytimes including colors, ducks, plants and movement, followed by a different craft or activity each day following the stories. Please bring a tricycle or bicycle on August 9, for a short ride along the Storywalk. If you are a daycare center planning to attend, please notify Danae at Parks & Rec, 515-978-0007, to ensure there are enough craft supplies. This event is held at the Windfield Park Open Shelter unless there is inclement weather, then it will be at the Waukee Public Library.   2. Beginning Book Club: Scientists

    August 7, 2019, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Waukee Public Library

    **Two sessions- 3:00pm & 4:00pm** A book club for beginning readers! Join us as we read and discuss a dinosaur picture book this month. Each book discussion is followed by a themed activity and snack. For students entering Kindergarten-2nd grade. Parents are encouraged to remain in the room for this event. Registration is required.

    August 7, 2019, 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Triangle Park

    Presented by the Waukee Triangle Businesses, the Farmers Market is held in the Downtown Triangle every Wednesday evening during the summer and features local food vendors, fresh produce, handmade items and live music.

    Park Play is a summer fun series organized by the Waukee Parks & Recreation Department and sponsored by Central Bank. The Fox Creek Park theme this year will be Hawaiian Luau. This is a great way to connect with neighbors while having fun in the park! Flyers will be delivered to specific park neighborhoods with information about Park Play themes. Games, crafts, activities and fun for all ages will be provided free of charge.
