1. How do I set up my gas, water, and garbage and recycling service?

To get new service started call the Utility Billing office at 515-978-5502 at least 24 hours prior to the start date of your service activation. You will need to come to City Hall to show proof of identity and pay your deposit.

3. When is yard waste clean up?

Yard waste pick-up is contracted through ASI to be collected at the curb every Monday from the first Monday in April until the last Monday in November. If you have any issues, please call ASI at 515-964-5229

4. What if my garbage, recycling or yard waste is missed or I was late getting it out?

If your garbage, recycling or yard waste was on the curb on your designated day and by 7 a.m. and it was not picked up, please call ASI at 515-964-5229 to report the issue. If your garbage, recycling or yard waste was missed because it was not out in time on your designated day, please wait until the next collection date for pick-up.

6. How do I cancel my gas/water/garbage and recycling service?

When you are moving and would like your account closed, please call the Utility Billing office at 515-978-5502 at least 24 hours prior to your move out or closing date to schedule a final reading.

7. How do I get a copy of my bill?

Call our office at 515-978-5502 and we can send you a copy of the bill either by mail, fax or email. Or, stop by Waukee City Hall to request a print-out in person.

8. How do I pay online?

You can pay online through the City of Waukee website by signing up for access to your account online. From this access point you will be able to pay by credit card only. View other payment options.

9. How do I get a streetlight fixed?

If the streetlight is located in the Southfork Subdivision, contact the Public Works Department at 515-978-7920 to get a service repair ticket started. For all other streetlights outages or issues, contact MidAmerican Energy at the link below or by calling 1-888-427-5632. Submit a Streetlight Repair Request

10. What do I do if I smell gas?

If you smell gas, and it is a slight odor, leave the premises. Do not shut off light switches or appliances. Once you are safely away from the home, call Gas Emergency at 515-249-1212.

If the gas odor is strong, leave the premises right away and call 911.

11. Where do I get my pet licensed with the City?

In February 2017, the City of Waukee launched a new partnership with PetData, the nation's only full-service animal licensing provider.

For residents with 2016 pet licenses, PetData will send renewal letters in the mail following that launch date. For first-time licenses, visit PetData.com or call 1-855-585-8157 toll-free.

Dog and cat licenses cost $15 for altered pets and $25 for unaltered pets. Waukee residents are required to license pets annually per City ordinance. A proof of rabies vaccination is required. Visit PetData's website.

12. Who do I contact regarding a dead animal?

Animals that are found on the street or in the public right of way are handled by the Public Works Department. Please call 515-978-7922.

13. Who do I contact regarding a stray animal or a wild animal?

Live animals that are found at large, whether a loose dog or a wandering raccoon are handled by the Police Department. Please call dispatch at 515-222-3321 to make a report.
