Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

Caring for someone with dementia often means walking the line between supporting their independence and protecting their safety. In this course, we’ll explore common challenges smartphones can create for people living with dementia, along with practical, easy-to-apply strategies to keep your loved one safe. Just as importantly, we’ll highlight ways smartphones can be used to foster connection, independence, and joy at different stages of dementia For adults ages 18+. Registration is requested.
