[ARCHIVED] Downed Limbs and Other Yard Waste Should Be Placed on Curb for Collection

branches

Many trees were damaged by a severe thunderstorm in Waukee. City crews will be clearing debris on public property such as in parks, streets and right-of-way (area between the sidewalk and the street). All downed limbs, branches, etc. on private property will need to be placed on the City curb for normal yard waste collection prior to 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26. As a reminder, open burning is not allowed within the city limits of Waukee. Yard waste materials (with the exception of bundled items) must be placed in biodegradable bags or reusable containers with 40-pound maximum weights.

Sticks, Brush, & Branches

Sticks, brush and branches must be cut into four-foot lengths and bundled with (with string or twine) a 40-pound maximum weight per bundle. If the sticks will fit into a small reusable container, they will not need to be bundled. Please do not use an ASI garbage or recycling container for yard waste.

Collection

Place the approved items at the curb for collection. Items can be set out the night before, or before 7 a.m. the day of collection.

Note: There will be no yard waste collection on Labor Day. It will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 3 during that week.
