NW 10th Street is closed approximately a half-mile north of Hickman Road. If weather continues to allow, the street may remain closed while crews work throughout the duration of this project - likely until late 2020. Local traffic will still have access to adjacent properties both north and south of the closure. Through traffic will be routed around the closure via a signed detour route utilizing Hickman Road, NE Alice’s Road and Hwy 44.
Public Works Update Feb. 1: Underground utility construction continues to progress when weather allows. At this time the contractor anticipates keeping NW 10th Street closed to through traffic until further notice. Local traffic access will still be maintained from both the south and north extents of the project. With favorable weather and progress, staff anticipates opening two lanes to through traffic in mid to late summer. We’ll keep you informed as progress is made, but the previous information of possibly reopening lanes to through traffic in January/February/March is no longer viable to ensure safety for both the traveling public and the construction workers as well as to ensure the NW 10th St project is substantially completed and open to through traffic by the end of the 2020 construction season.
