The City of Waukee and the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce are now seeking nominations through Friday, Feb. 21 for the 2019 Citizen of the Year honor. This program aims to recognize a Waukee resident for dedicated volunteer efforts in the previous year(s) which lead to making Waukee a great place in which to live, work, play and learn. The Citizen of the Year is recognized at a reception and in the Independence Day parade. They will also receive a plaque, Chamber of Commerce prize package and more.

Previous Citizen of the Year honorees include community organizers Andy and Amy Walsh, civic-minded resident Frank Hoifeldt and youth volunteer Eric Kress.
