Iowa DOT has a long-term closure of the I-80 westbound on-ramp at R16 (R Ave/Exit 113/Van Meter), which may last through September 2025. Drivers will not be able to get onto I-80 at this ramp. Detour along Highway 6/Hickman Road to access I-80 from the Grand Prairie Parkway on-ramp.
There are lane closures and traffic shifts between Exit 117 (Ute Ave) and Exit 113 (R Ave). Traffic is shifting lanes at R16 and approximately 1 mile from Exit 110 (De Soto). Eastbound traffic has shifted to the furthest south set of lanes (new lanes). Westbound traffic has shifted to the prior eastbound lanes. The furthest north lanes and bridges will be abandoned and removed.
