[ARCHIVED] New Playground Coming to Centennial Park

Tall play structure with two curvy tube slides coming off it to turf

Work on the new playground in Centennial Park begins the week of October 6, 2024. First, our contractor will remove the existing main playground and the small playground near Park Road and the ball fields. Then the new structures will go up to replace the main playground. The new equipment includes structures for kids of varying ages and lots of shade for parents and caregivers. Take a tour of the design with this video rendering on the City's YouTube page.

Please stay away from the construction area, but feel free to enjoy the rest of the park. There is a small playground in the southwest corner near the enclosed shelter that kids can enjoy while the crew works on the new equipment.

The current play equipment is about 25 years old, but it will get a new life in South American through Kids Around the World. After it is removed from Centennial Park, the structure will be refurbished and shipped to a community in need of a playground.
