Here are a few ideas to get you started, but there are plenty more options.

  • Cheer in person when the Minnesota Wild face the Ottawa Senators in St. Paul on December 13. Children can go on the day trip when accompanied by their adult. Register by November 30.
  • Online registration opens December 1 for Girls Recreational Softball and Girls Advanced Softball, which runs mid-April to early June and serves girls in grades K-8.
  • Kids can have tons of curated fun while you enjoy a date night with Parents Night Out by Camp Brainiac on December 12, January 16 or February 27 for grades K-5.
  • Littles can get their wiggles out with Tumbling Tots December 8-11 (ages 2-5), Tippi Toes Dance from January 7-February 11 (ages 4-5) or Karate from January 5-8 (ages 6-adults).
  • Learn fun tricks to dazzle family and friends from professional magician Lee Cole at Magiclass on December 29 for ages 6-15. Supplies provided and no prior magic experience needed.
  • Sharpen artistic skills with Sunflower Fine Art. Options for Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays for budding artists ages 6-18.

The Waukee Public Library invites you to “Hop into Reading” in their Winter Bingo Challenge through January 31. Play a bingo card full of activities for up to two chances to win the grand prize for your age group. Sign up at WaukeePublicLibrary.org/Winter or at the library. They also offer a ton of free programs for people of all ages, from babies to teens to seniors. Check them out on the Waukee Public Library calendar here

Save the date for two winter events. WinterFest is Friday, December 5 from 6-8 p.m. in the Downtown Triangle of Waukee. FamilyFest will give your kids a way to get the energy out with inflatables and tons of activities on Saturday, January 17.
