Waukee residents showed their enthusiasm for Waukee’s annual clean-up day held on May 9. Waukee Public Works has been hosting the weekend of curbside pick-up, hazardous waste drop off and tire drop-off for a decade, and each year residents help keep the City clean by participating.
Waukee collected a total of 8,102 pounds of hazardous waste this year, with a large volume coming from used oil. The City also collected large volumes of pesticides and paint.
The annual citywide clean-up features curbside pick-up, a tire drop off and an electronics drop off. Citywide clean-up day will be held again in May 2016.
