On September 28, 2016, 260 trees - including breeds like White Oak, Quaking Aspen Saucer Magnolia and Norway Spruce - were distributed to MidAmerican Energy Company customers through the Plant Some Shade™ program. Waukee Parks & Recreation and Park Board members assisted participants with the tree pick-up. This is the City of Waukee's third year of involvement in the program which allows participants to buy up to two trees at $30 each with the remaining costs funded by MidAmerican Energy.
