From approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, members of the Waukee Police and Fire Departments will conduct a training exercise for police officers, firefighters and paramedics at the Vince Meyer Learning Center (VMLC). The VMLC is not being used by Waukee Community School District this school year for additional class space. With no students or teachers currently located in this facility, it is an ideal location for training.
If driving by, the public may notice several law enforcement vehicles and personnel at VMLC on this day. Citizens should not be alarmed by the police and fire presence.
Please remember: this is a training exercise, and the building is empty.
