Just Go Faster welcomes runners to take a 10-mile run through Waukee in the brand new event – The Waukee 10! The race route boasts 10 beautiful miles of fast flats, challenging climbs, cheering neighbors and a triumphant finish at the Waukee Stadium on the now famous purple track. For runners preparing for a half marathon distance, there's no better test than this race!

“It’s really exciting for a run of such magnitude to take place in Waukee,” said Waukee Mayor Bill Peard. “We know there are a lot of active people residing in and visiting this community. There have been many 5K runs, bike rides and so on held here. The way the route has been created, it will really be a scenic tour of the City by foot.”

Waukee plays host to the inaugural event scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 16 at 7 a.m. It is open to anyone and will offer a 5K route as well. The headlining 10-mile distance takes runners through the 10 most beautiful miles of the city, including the historic Downtown Triangle. Participants can expect a safe, certified course with plenty of aid stations and course support, entertainment to keep up the motivation, and a medal which can be proudly worn post-race. Additional perks include a long sleeve technical shirt, timing splits on the course, and a great post-race experience to help jump start recovery!

“We are really hoping this will be a successful event and one that will become a well-known annual event for Waukee and runners from all over the state and beyond,” said Waukee Parks & Recreation Director Matt Jermier.

Registration is now open at www.WaukeeTen.com. Fees range from $25-70. Use password “Hometown5” to save $5. More details are available at the website as well.
