  • Outdoor Warning Sirens are activated based on where the impacted area is located. They are not activated county-wide. Example: If southern West Des Moines is in the impacted warning area (polygon) and that polygon is not close to Waukee, the West Des Moines sirens would sound, but Waukee sirens would not.
