Peddler or Solicitor Permit

All peddlers must be licensed by the City of Waukee

All solicitors and peddlers are required to be licensed by the City of Waukee with certain specific exemptions as outlined in Waukee Municipal Code, Chapter 122. Residents are encouraged to ask peddlers and solicitors who may visit their home to display their City of Waukee Peddler Permit. If they don't have a valid peddler permit, please contact the Waukee Police Department non-emergency dispatch at 515-222-3321 to file a report.

Doing business door-to-door?

All peddlers and solicitors must obtain a Peddler Permit from the City of Waukee. Religious, non-profit and charitable organizations are exempt from paying a fee but must still apply for a permit. If approved, each peddler is required to display their permit while conducting business in Waukee.

Hours of solicitation in the City of Waukee are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Soliciting is not permitted on Sundays or national holidays.

Apply online

Licenses can be obtained for a period of one day up to 90 days. Rates are based on the length of the license. If you are unable to apply online, call the City Clerk at 515-978-7904. Current fees are listed in the City's Fee Schedule or within the online permit platform
