The Waukee Fire Department is staffed 24 hours a day and seven days a week with a combination of full and part time firefighters. There are currently 21 full-time staff members that work 24 on/48 hours off and 25 part-time staff members that work 12 and 24 hours shifts to ensure around-the-clock advanced life support coverage for our community.
The Waukee Fire Department operates two ambulances out of our single station. Both ambulances carry almost the exact same equipment, and both are capable of advanced life support. In the event that both ambulances are out of service, the closest available ambulance from a neighboring city is immediately and automatically dispatched.
