Romp, stomp and play! With toddler toys ranging from blocks to tunnels and mats, there’s no shortage of action to keep the littles busy during the fall and winter months. Parents provide the supervision in this open gym for toddlers where kids love to play and parents get to socialize with one another. This is a non-structured activity. Tot Lot will be cancelled when Waukee Schools are delayed and/or if there is inclement weather. Tot Lot is held Oct. 1-March 31 on Tuesdays from 5-7 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Fox Creek Pavilion. It will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and 31 as well as Jan. 1, but will be open during the week of Spring Break. The cost is $1 per day or $20 for a season pass.

It’s time for another library fieldtrip! Join us for a private tour of the historic Jordan House. This Victorian home is one of the oldest structures in Polk Country and the oldest in West Des Moines. Jordan House was also a station on the Underground Railroad in Iowa! We will be taking a FREE roundtrip shuttle that will depart from the Waukee Public Library. Those registered and riding the shuttle will also receive FREE admission. Please arrive for boarding by 1:50pm, we will be leaving promptly at 2:00pm.
If you would like to join us for the tour but do not wish to take the shuttle, you can meet us at Jordan House. HOWEVER, you will be responsible for paying your own admissions fee.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding your home of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring pills for disposal. The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Join Waukee Parks & Recreation on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 3:30-5 p.m. for the first annual Halloween Bark Bash at Trailside Dog Park sponsored by Autumn Ridge Apartments and Companions for Life. Showcase creativity during the canine costume contests. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners in the following categories: large dog costume, small dog costume and owner/canine costume combo. Pooches who do tricks can also enter the "Best Trick for a Treat Contest".
Check-in and costume judging will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. with the winners being announced starting at 4:45 p.m. Judging for the Best Trick for a Treat Contest will be held at 4:45 p.m.
Current Trailside Dog Park members will have a dog-gone good time at the event free of charge. Non-members can also participate; they just need to purchase a daily pass online at www.waukee.org/dogpark.

Emphasis will be placed on mind flexibility and balance, as well as self-confidence and breath control. This class is based on physical postures (asanas), breathing, awareness and listening to the body. Respect for the entire self, mind, body and soul. Wear clothing you can move in and bring your yoga mat and water bottle.
This class is also accessible to those who need the support of a chair or to be seated.

WASP involves the senior citizens in the Waukee area and aims to "Take the Sting Out of Crime"! WASP was created based upon the concept of cooperation between law enforcement, senior services and seniors in the community to reduce the criminal victimization of seniors. It stands for Waukee Area Seniors and Police.
The group meets the last Wednesday of each month for lunch at the Community Center. Interested seniors should contact the Waukee Police Department at 515-978-7979.
