Alice's Road Improvements

The City of Waukee is partnering with the City of Clive to continue improvements to Alice's Road. This is multi-year project stretching from NE Horizon Drive and Meredith Drive. It will increase roadway capacity by constructing a 5-lane roadway section with 2 lanes in each direction and a center left turn lane/median. Construction of Phase 1 between NE Horizon Drive and Douglas Parkway is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2025.

City of Clive is the lead on the project. Find current project information at CityofClive.com/AlicesRoad.

Project Update: December 31, 2025

Alice’s Road between Boston Parkway and Dellwood Drive will be closed to traffic from Monday, January 5-Friday, January 9 for temporary pavement patching. Pavement in this area has continued to deteriorate in recent weeks due to fluctuating air temperatures and freeze/thaw cycles. The designated detour route is Hickman Road or Douglas Parkway to 156th Street.

This section of the road will be fully reconstructed in the spring/summer construction season.
