Food

The Waukee community has a number of great restaurants, both drive-through and sit-down. We hope you stop to enjoy a meal before, during or after your visit to Triumph Park. Restaurants are mostly located along Grand Prairie Parkway/Alice's Road, University Avenue, Hickman Road and within the Downtown Triangle near 6th Street. There is a range of food options from fast-food chains to local eateries and coffee shops.

In addition, there are several grocery stores if you need to pick up snacks or items for a picnic lunch. Hy-Vee and Aldi near the corner of Hickman Road and Alice's Road as well as Fareway just east of the Hickman Road and Warrior Lane intersection.

Concessions at the ball fields are typically open during tournaments. Find the concession stand menu here.

Waukee has two hotels within city limits.

Additional hotels are located in nearby communities within a 15-minute drive to Triumph Park. 

Things to Do

Within Triumph Park, you can enjoy the large, inclusive playground which is suited to a range of ages and includes many inclusive amenities to enable people of varying abilities to play. The fishing pond is stocked by the Iowa DNR and has an ADA-accessible fishing pier with shade. 

During your visit to Waukee, you may also enjoy a show at Vibrant Music Hall, which hosts a range of musical and comedic acts as well as other special events. Find the Vibrant schedule here. Waukee Parks and Recreation has more than 20 parks as well as bike trails around the City. Find a new spot to explore here. If you have a bike, check out the popular Raccoon River Valley Trail, a paved 72-mile loop. Learn more about the trail here. The trailhead is located at the intersection of Hickman Road and 10th Street. Local bars often have live music, trivia and other entertainment. Options are located within the historic Downtown Triangle along 6th Street and Hickman Road. 

Beyond Waukee, other communities within the Des Moines metro area host a number of festivals and events. Downtown Des Moines has attractions, such as the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, Science Center of Iowa, Des Moines Art Center and Iowa State Capitol building
