Special Census 2024

Job Opportunities: Help with the Special Census

Waukee is gearing up for a Special Census, and we want YOU to help us count every resident. Our updated population count could help us qualify for the funding we need for services we all rely on, from roads to education for our children.

Whether you need a job this summer or just feel a strong sense of civic duty, our community needs your help! The U.S. Census Bureau is hiring Field Representatives and Field Supervisors to follow up with residents who do not complete the online census form.

Why should you apply?
Ensuring our population is accurately counted can make a big positive impact on our community. Training is paid and hours are flexible across days, nights and weekends in June and July.  Bonus–you can meet more of your neighbors, enjoy a pretty Iowa summer and get some extra steps in.

Who should apply?
These roles could be a great fit for teachers and school staff on summer break, college students, retirees, people looking for a temporary side hustle as well as anyone who wants to help our community. You must be 18 years or older and a U.S. citizen to apply for these jobs with the U.S. Census Bureau.
